Hope you had a fantastic Easter break!
I took a few days off with the family and went fishing, walking and swimming in the local Ku Ring Gai National Park…. Happy days!
Over the weekend I received the email below, my comments are to follow;
“Dan, in your email you say not to give away the farm when writing emails to your list. I’ve always been taught to give away massive value, how much info should I be giving away.”
Great question… As a general rule of thumb don’t give away anything that’s in your paid product or service.
If you have a specific formula for calculating calorie range or a training system you use, save this valuable information for your paid clients only.
Your emails job is to motivate, inspire and to convey a message or certain way of finkin.
Value is in the eye of the beholder.
Changing someone’s beliefs, expanding their consciousness about certain a topic and inspiring somebody to take action is extremely valuable information.
If you over teach with specific ‘how to info’ you satiate their desire to learn more from you which, will ultimately harm your sales.
I like to think of it as ‘baiting the hook’.
Just like it is with fishing…
Use too much bait and the hook won’t sink in.
Use too little and you won’t attract the fish.
Use just the right amount and ye shall catch all the fish you can eat.
