Got a spooky little blog post for you today.
There’s a National Park I drive through everyday famous for countless fatal car crashes, grisly murders and body dumping.
Over the years there have been reported ghostly apparitions and unexplained supernatural occurrences.
Car doors locking themselves, radios changing channels, window wipers ceasing to work and the pedestrian crossing flashing the green man, despite no one pushing the button.
Anyone who drives this road during dark will tell you it’s a spooky place.
But… what’s even spookier are the sightings of two females who appear on the highway at night, an older lady and a young girl.
Both females have been reported to enter cars at night at the pedestrian crossing… appearing in rearview mirrors terrifying drivers.
Legend has it that the older lady was a Scottish nun brutally murdered 50 years ago and, the young girl named Kelly who died in a fatal car crash in the 1970’s.
It is said that if you don’t tell Kelly to go away she will run your car off the road.
Spooky eh?
Anyway, here’s the point:
We’ve got this in business too.
Except, instead of ghosts… we have ‘SEO consultants, Google Adwords reps and ‘Social Media experts’ harassing you… appearing uninvited on your telephone line and in your email inbox.
I can’t tell you how many phone calls I’ve received over the years from a Google Adwords rep telling me how I can improve my account (spend more money).
Or, an ‘SEO consultant’ emailing me to tell me all the things wrong with my website and how they will get me to the #1 spot on Google.
And, being messaged by a self proclaimed ‘Facebook Expert’ who is more interested in ‘Likes’ than sales.
Hey, these Ghosts may or may not be a myth… but these consultants and so-called experts are real.
And… if you don’t tell them to go away – they will run your business off the road.
If I were you, I’d tell them all to go away.

P.S. The best way to protect yourself from uninvited guests is to know how to market your business yourself.
