I was having a chat with a consulting client this morning about his marketing systems… or lack of.
He has big goals… to open up 5 new boot camp locations this year.
But, he has no… website… no offer… and no list.
This reminded me of a very profitable business lesson I learned from Peter Montoya’s book – The Brand Called You.
In it he explains that ‘visibility is more important than ability and that visibility builds credibility’.
If we see a business or product everywhere, we subconsciously think that they must be good.
Sure, you need to be a great personal trainer otherwise your clients won’t stay with you for long and refer friends and family.
However, there comes a point where you have enough skills to get your clients results and you must focus your attention on becoming a better marketer.
The little known secret in the fitness industry is that the best personal trainers don’t always earn the most money.
It’s the best ‘marketers’ of personal training that make the most moolah!
Follow my 50/50 rule.
Spend 50% of your time on becoming a better personal trainer… and the other 50% a better marketer of personal training.
Need to become a better marketer of personal training?
