Only 3 more weeks of winter left here in Sydney.
Winters are not too shabby anyways with temperatures hitting 18-20 Celsius most days and I’m told it’s gonna get up to 24 degrees later this week.
Why am I telling you this?
Well even though winters are very mild in Sydney everyone here hibernates, no-one wants to get up train on the beach at 5.30am when it’s dark and cold.
Being a P.O.M (prisoner of mother England), it’s funny to watch Sydneysiders struggle with the cold, they get it too easy 9-months of the year!
Anyways… what should you do if your business is seasonal?
1. Go travelling and let your trainers run the workouts and come back when it’s warmer?
2. Make use of the quite times and create online training programs?
3. Broaden the shoulders.
I prefer to do all three, but it depends on your business and lifestyle goals.
The first 2 need no explanation, but what is ‘broaden the shoulders’ I hear you ask?
We’ll here in Sydney, winter is; June, July & August. These are the only 3 cold(ish) months of the year.
So… I do something called ‘broadening the shoulders’.
I run a body transformation program in mid-May that will run for 6 weeks. This way you’ll get a heap of new signups that’ll stay with you throughout the month of June.
Now, you’re left with only July & August to fill.
So… the first week of August I run a re-activation campaign to anyone that cancelled through winter and bribe them with a special offer to come and train in August. This always brings back a heap of old clients.
And, I run 21-Day Jump Start challenge which is an intermitted fasting diet + boot camp.
This also brings in a flood of new clients.
So, now that the camps are full in June and August I’m just left with 1 quite month in July where I’ll go travelling, get a bit of sun and have some fun.
Have a quite time of year in your fitness business?
Broaden the shoulders and stretch out your season.
Till next time!
